@amberdambey@skyebot Random domain name, especially since I wasn’t sure if I was sticking with iceshrimp.net. But I don’t really see a reason to change the domain at this point.
I was looking at pixelfed and Sharkey but I actually like .net.
On another note, never lose your only windows USB installer.
You'll find it's impossible to install windows again. You can download the ISO, but it doesn't come with the drivers. Conveniently, the drivers on the OEM website are all in .exe files, which you can't easily run on Linux and therefore you cannot extract them.
TL;DR make a backup windows installer with rufus and hide it somewhere or you're SOL.
Why does #mastodon ingest avif media, but fail to ingest avif media if it is account avatars or account banners? I'd love to drop webp support entirely, but can't because of this.
@SkyDotBit I dunno. With iceshrimp I have it converting media into avif (local) and webp (external) anyway. I could even do jpeg-xl, but nothing really supports that format other then safari and firefox nightly.
And I resize to 2048.
I much prefer this over storing the uncompressed jpeg/png files that use gigantic amounts of space.
