I really hate hard drives. I want to just use them separately, right? But then they start to fail and you get data corruption.
You can solve this with a raid array with ZFS. But then you lose storage.
Or you can use a file archive that supports recovery records, like rar. But then you can't index the files.
For the record, I've never had a SSD fail from old age. TBW? Sure. Old age? No.
Not that SSDs are the solution, since they can't store 22TB of data per drive. But, ugh.
I'm just bitching because I had another drive fail two days ago. Recovered fine, since its in a raid array. Still, I'm annoyed.
