It's still actively being developed, for sure. I just don't know about future longevity.
@memoria Lead developer has been on an "extended vacation" for 6+ months and the frontend developer is inactive.
Pancakes has more or less taken over as the main dev (both backend and frontend) which is great, and kopper is also active sometimes.
It's not dead, but I am not convinced that it will be around in the long run.

@skydotbit At that point I'd just use MacOS but at the same time I cannot stand MacOS so I have no idea, sorry.
I would... probably... do a hackintosh.
Unfortunately they will no longer get major OS upgrades as apple is discontinuing x86_64 support, but hey, whatever.

1) Use Linux
2) Buy a second GPU (or if you have a iGPU, skip this step)
3) Use GPU passthrough and attach your dedicated graphic card
4) Use looking glass so you can use one monitor with both OS
5) Profit
@ryan I am not sure about the recent ubuntu releases, but you can completely disable snap on 24.04.

Some people still prefer openrc, I guess.

I personally like systemd but that's just me.
