I am reminded yet again of why 16GB RAM laptops should not exist.

Here I am idling with two tabs open and I'm using 8GB RAM.

Please please please make 32GB RAM the minimum on new laptops. I'll be upgrading this one, but yeah.

Even with Elastic Search, the search functionality of Mastodon is garbage.

@amberdambey Yeah, that reminds me that I need to revisit my rules. I don't want a complicated rule system, but I also don't want a lot of the crap .social has.

Like spam bots that give you "news" while having referral links in every post, or worse, ip grabbers.

I'd also, overall, like a inclusive and safe space for (most) groups of people. Nazi's can go away, though.

@publicvoit Now if only Linux solved the dual-display signal monitor issues on wayland/KDE/Gnome.

My 5k monitor hates wayland (tears in middle on gnome) and isnt supported at all on KDE.

Xorg just works, though.
