I've always used HEIC for screenshots (or have since like two MacOS versions ago) because it saves on space.
Your web browser (safari) should be automatically converting them to jpeg or png when you copy a screenshot into it. I'm unsure if third party browsers do, though.
@skydotbit On the flip side, if you have a M1 or M2 macbook you would be fine with it, since the native display works. You just wont be able to use external usb-c or thunderbolt monitors.
@skydotbit Another device. I've used Asahi linux with the mac studio, which works, but it only works over HDMI. My 5k monitor needs a thunderbolt connection, unfortunately. And they do not appear to be a in a hurry to add that functionality to the distro.
@amberdambey@skydotbit HEIC works on my instance, but video formats won't be converted because Iceshrimp.NET doesn't have ffmpeg integration at this point in time.
